Outdoor Kitchen on a Patio: Plan the Hot Zone and Working Space

Vitcas HT Fireboard for specified protective assemblies

In the outdoor kitchen on a patio, the heating appliance is adjacent to the worktop, furniture, and circulation path. First, draw the entire layout during use, and only then select the boards and finishing. Free space between cabinets is not in itself a confirmed location for an oven or grill.

Draw the appliance together with its surroundings

Check the manual of the selected model: how to position it, required clearances, and conditions for smoke or fume removal. In the diagram, mark the roof, facade, wood, curtains, and doors. Material hidden behind the cladding may also be sensitive to heating.

Go through the operation of the device with cold equipment. Opening the door, removing the dish, and setting down the peel require space. Take into account people passing by and places where hot parts remain after finishing work.

The shield has a specific role

Vitcas HT Fireboard can create an appropriate protective surface in the intended applications. The presence of the board itself does not determine the required distance of the device from a wooden wall. The entire system is subject to inspection, including gaps, fastenings, and layers on the other side.

High-temperature resistant silicone is used for specific flexible connections. It does not replace a detailed solution for chimney penetration or mortar working directly near the flame. For each location, describe the temperature, movement, and contact with water separately.

Plan storage and supplies

Separate the food preparation area from the place for placing hot dishes and tools. Store fuel according to the device's requirements, away from its hot zone. A decorative niche under the firebox is not necessarily suitable for storing wood.

Before installing permanent fixtures, also check the support and access for inspection. Keep documentation of the selected device and the cross-section of the enclosure. Changing the model or adding a canopy requires a reassessment of the layout, even if the previously chosen panels remain the same.
